Every climber need to have a name tag if they want to climb the mountain. Before anyone climb the mountain they have to register at the check point and bring along the name tag with the number given to each person. This is how they keep tracking people who went up and who already went down.

There is also a guide who will help you along the way up to carry your bag. But you need to pay as per agreement with the guide carrier. But i am very sure you will need one, why? All the way up might be easy but all the way down would be trickier. The guide carrier would not only carry your bag down but will carry you along the way if you are not to heavy. You will know once you experience what my spouse had.

Certificate! This is yours when climbing Mount Kinabalu

After the hard work, tiring, exhausted, all the excitement and victory that you have achieved. The memories of reaching the summit will remain and certified by this certificate. There is two types of certificate which is when you reach on top of the mountain and the other one is you only reach half ways the second check point (Laban Lata).

Colored Certificate - on top of the summit

Black & white certificate - half way
Black and white certificate is the same only is not colored.

It is worth to climb mount Kinabalu as not every one have the ability or enough stamina to reach on top of the mountain. It is like a dream and the view from the top is fantastic and amazing. I can imagine by only seeing the picture taken. If one day i have the chances to climb Mount Kinabalu, i will go for it!

After the long, tiring, adventures journey, definitely you will earn and learn something from the trip. You will know your capability and stamina whether you have strong will to climb and reach the summit. You need to practice for few days or maybe few weeks to increase and boost your stamina otherwise all your efforts will be wasted.

You know my spouse only practices for a 2 weeks for climbing the mountain. It was a short notice for him to join the group, at first i doubt that he will be able to climb the mountain. But i admit i was wrong and solute him. Well done honey!!

You know what is the funny thing is, i am Sabahan, but i never or thinking to climb the mountain. I don't know why and when? Never under estimate people.

At last, they reach the summit, the picture taken at the top of the mount at 5.32am. The sun is about to rise.

We cannot see this kind of view anywhere. Just at the top at the mountain. This is what we have been missing.

Now, the other challenge. Going down, it is hurting more on your toes when you come down.

Reach Laban Lata. Kroooh!!!! Krooohhh!!! Tired until fell asleep .Everyone have to sleep early so that they can wake up early in the morning at 2.00am and register. Depart to the starting point and start climbing.

Second thought," I think i cannot make it, may be some other day." But he didn't realize he already at the summit. Peace man!!!

While, Yim" I have to go on, for the sake of my family.Thinking,"how in the world can i go down"?

During the 15th century, Sabah was a vassal state of the Brunei Sultanate. In 1704, the Sultan of Brunei ceded the land east of Marudu Bay to the Sultan of Sulu.

In the early 1880s, Moses, an American trader obtained a lease over Sabah from Brunei. The lease was eventually passed to Alfred Dent, an Englishman who signed a treaty with Brunei and Sulu in 1881 to convert the lease into a cession. Thus British North Borneo (Sabah's old name) was born.

The state was administered by the Chartered Company of British North Borneo until the Japanese Occupation in 1945. After World War II, Sabah became a British Crown Colony. In 1963, it gained independence and joined Malaysia.
